Stellar Blade's director and producer Kim Hyung Tae has expressed enthusiastic support for player mods and says he's excited to explore them personally.
During a recent press conference in Yeouido, South Korea, Kim was asked about his stance on modding. "I wholeheartedly support players creating mods," he stated. "In fact, I'm eager to try out some of the more creative mods myself."
He added, "I hope to see a thriving modding community where creators can showcase their work and even engage in friendly competition to develop the most compelling modifications. I'd love for more players to participate in mod development."
This support comes at an opportune time, as the game hasn't even officially launched on PC, yet there are already numerous mods available on Nexus for the demo—ranging from new character skins and reshading presets to VR implementations and cosmetic tweaks like nail polish. Some mods remain discreetly listed as "adult" content, but we'll leave that topic there.
IGN's review of Stellar Blade awarded it a 7/10, praising its action-focused gameplay while critiquing its underwhelming narrative and characters. Our review noted: "While Stellar Blade excels in core combat mechanics, its forgettable story, bland protagonists, and some frustrating RPG elements keep it from standing among the genre's elite."
The PC version, launching on Steam June 11, will introduce several platform-exclusive enhancements, including Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3 AI upscaling, uncapped framerates, Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide monitor support, high-res textures, and DualSense controller integration for haptics and adaptive triggers. Initially region-locked in over 100 countries, the game is now available for pre-order in more than 250 regions. While no official multiplayer exists yet—and no mod currently enables it—dataminers have reportedly uncovered multiplayer references in the game files.
