In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Insomniac Games' founder and retiring president, Ted Price, shared insights into a project that never made it to fruition: Resistance 4. Despite the enthusiasm and passion of the Insomniac team, the game was never greenlit due to timing and market considerations. Price expressed his belief in the potential of the Resistance series, citing its unique alternate history setting and the intriguing narrative possibilities surrounding the Chimera's origins and future.
The Resistance franchise, developed by Insomniac, is a series of first-person shooters that began after their work on the Ratchet and Clank series. Set in an alternate history where aliens invade the UK in 1951, the series saw three releases exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Since then, Insomniac has shifted focus to other successful projects, including Marvel’s Spider-Man and new Ratchet and Clank games.
Ted Price announced his retirement earlier this year after over three decades with Insomniac Games. He will be succeeded by Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang, who will serve as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest title, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has recently been released on PC, and the studio is currently working on Marvel’s Wolverine.
