Launched in 2016, the "Guardians of the Road – the road of all of us" project aims to raise awareness and deter unsafe driving. As of January 1, 2023, the project is managed by the Safe Path association.
Any citizen over 18 can download the "Road Guards" app and start documenting traffic violations. Operation is simple and quick: activate the app before driving, and when you witness a violation, initiate a report using either a voice command or a Bluetooth button on your steering wheel. The app will automatically begin recording video and audio evidence.
These reports are reviewed by a control center staffed by experienced volunteer traffic controllers. Following review, a "letter on the way" is sent to the driver, including a link to the recorded video evidence. In cases involving life-threatening violations, reports are forwarded directly to the police.
