There's undeniable excitement surrounding the theatrical release of the hotly anticipated Final Destination: Bloodlines. This sixth installment of the legendary horror franchise marks a triumphant return, made even more special by the presence of horror icon Tony Todd. The late actor, celebrated for his chilling portrayal of the original Candyman, delivers a powerful unscripted monologue in the film – a revelation shared by producer Craig Perry, who described Todd's final performance as profoundly moving.
A Poignant Farewell Performance
"We were all aware of his declining health," Perry admitted in a Deadline interview about both the new film and his decades-long experience producing the franchise since its 2000 debut. "It became apparent this would be his final film role. That it happened to be in a Final Destination movie made the experience even more emotionally significant."
The producer shared that directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein made a bold creative choice during filming, allowing Todd to improvise rather than stick to the script. "Our directors made an inspired decision," Perry explained. "For his final lines, they told Tony, 'Just speak from your heart – what message would you want to give the fans?'"
Perry continued emotionally: "Every word in that powerful scene came straight from Tony's heart – his final words to the fans who supported him throughout his incredible career. Witnessing that moment on set was pure magic, something profoundly impactful that I'll carry with me forever."
