Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, prepare to rally! IO Interactive has exciting news for fans: their much-anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, is set to grace the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive’s website, this new title will delve into an entirely fresh narrative within the iconic Bond universe.
In Project 007, players will have the thrilling opportunity to "step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," as stated by the developers. This game promises a unique journey as you embark on Bond's path to becoming a legendary spy.
Hakan Abrak, the head of IO Interactive, shared insights with IGN back in October about crafting a brand new origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. The vision is to create a narrative from the ground up, aiming for a potential trilogy in the future. Abrak emphasized the creation of a new Bond, tailored specifically for gamers. "It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
