A The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild speedrunner achieved a remarkable feat at the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan, completing the critically-acclaimed RPG within a strict 10-minute playtime limit. As reported by VGC, Japanese content creator Ikaboze took on the challenge using an existing save file, without prior knowledge of Link's equipment. He boldly decided to "defeat the final boss while tied up completely naked and with all my equipment removed," leading to a thrilling confrontation with Ganon. Just seven minutes into the demo, Ikaboze triumphed, prompting spontaneous applause from the gathered onlookers.

The accomplishment was particularly impressive considering Ikaboze was navigating an unfamiliar controller and couldn't hear the game over the convention hall's noise. He expressed his surprise at the large crowd and the attention from the staff, who even filmed the event on their smartphones. Ikaboze noted, "This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me."
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild offers improved visuals and performance, along with achievements and integration with the new "Zelda Notes" service within the Nintendo Switch Online app. Owners of the original Switch version won't automatically receive these enhancements but can purchase an "upgrade pack" for $10. Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are available at no extra cost to Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
