Fortnite Hunters kicks off Chapter 6 with a plethora of exciting content, including a fresh map filled with captivating locations, new movement mechanics, and formidable demonic bosses to challenge. Among the arsenal of weapons introduced this season, the Typhoon Blade stands out as a versatile choice for players who prefer close-quarters combat and enhanced mobility. Here's how to get your hands on the Typhoon Blade in Fortnite.
This guide was updated on January 15, 2025, by Nathan Round to include the most reliable methods for acquiring the Typhoon Blade, ensuring players have the best chance of securing this powerful weapon.
How To Get The Typhoon Blade
Looting Typhoon Blade Stands
The most consistent way to obtain the Typhoon Blade is by looting it from a Typhoon Blade Stand. These stands are scattered across the island at specific spawn points, though they don't always appear. Key locations to check include:
- Flooded Frogs
- Magic Mosses
- Lost Lake
- Nightshift Forest
- Shogun's Solitude
To claim the Typhoon Blade, simply approach a stand and press the Interact Button.
Chests & Floor Loot
If you prefer to avoid high-traffic areas, you can still find the Typhoon Blade in Chests or as floor loot. This method requires a bit of luck, but it's a viable alternative if the stands in your area have already been looted.
Defeating Demon Warriors
Another way to secure a Typhoon Blade is by defeating a Demon Warrior. These enemies spawn at active portals around the map, with three appearing each match. They are marked on the map, making them easy to track. Defeating a Demon Warrior wielding a Typhoon Blade offers a chance to obtain it, though they may also drop one of two Oni Masks.
Purchase From Kendo
For a guaranteed way to get the Typhoon Blade, you can purchase it from Kendo using Gold Bars. Kendo is located northeast of Nightshift Forest. However, you must first complete all five stages of his Melee Expertise Quests to unlock the option to buy the Typhoon Blade from him.
Defeating Shogun X (Mythic Only)
To acquire the Mythic version of the Typhoon Blade, you'll need to defeat Shogun X at Shogun's Arena. This challenging encounter is the only way to obtain the Mythic variant of the blade.
How To Use The Typhoon Blade
The Typhoon Blade is not just a melee weapon; it also enhances your mobility with a variety of abilities. However, it has limited durability, which decreases with each use. Once the durability is exhausted, the blade is lost.
Here's a breakdown of the Typhoon Blade's abilities:
- Passive Ability: Increases sprint speed and reduces stamina consumption while equipped.
- Attack: Press the Shoot Button to execute a slash attack, dealing 30 damage per hit. Chain attacks for a combo, with the final hit dealing 50 damage. Use in midair for a downward attack that nullifies fall damage.
- Cyclone Slash: Press the Aim Button for a heavy attack that deals 90 damage and knocks enemies back. This ability goes on a 10-second cooldown after use.
- Wind Leap: During a sprint, press the Jump Button to leap into the air, nullifying fall damage.
- Air Dash: In midair, press the Jump Button to dash forward, also nullifying fall damage.
