Since its launch in 2018, Dead Cells has been a powerhouse of fresh content, but all good things must come to an end. What’s in Store?
The last two updates, Clean Cut and The End is Near, are now available on Android. While the game will still be playable, the developers have decided to cease further updates. These final updates bring a touch of the cursed to the mix.
First off, you'll get your hands on four new weapons. The giant Sewing Scissors and the Misericorde sword are particularly noteworthy. The Misericorde delivers massive critical damage to enemies with less than half health, but beware: if you don't finish them off, you'll be cursed.
Another new addition is Anathema, a heavy-ranged weapon that explodes on impact but curses you if it hits anything. There's also a new skill called Indulgence, which unleashes a beam of light for massive damage and can clear some of your curses.
These updates introduce new modes like Speedrun and Boss Rush DIY, along with 40 new heads to customize your character. An NPC now allows you to swap these heads at will, adding a fun twist to your gameplay.
New Mutations and Enemies Too
The final updates also introduce new mutations. Cursed Flask lets you use your health flask without consuming a charge, while Damned Vigor gives you a few seconds to kill an enemy and save yourself from death. Demonic Strength boosts your damage if you're cursed, adding a thrilling risk-reward element to your battles.
As for new enemies, watch out for the Sore Loser, which sticks to you and curses you upon death. The Curser shoots guided cursed skulls and slashes at you if you get too close. And don't underestimate the Doom Bringer, who can kill you outright if she stacks more than 50 curses on you.
