Amazon's upcoming God of War TV adaptation hasn't even aired its first episode but has already secured two seasons according to showrunner Ronald D. Moore.
Moore inherited the project after the exit of original showrunner Rafe Judkins and executive producers Hawk Ostby and Mark Fergus. During a conversation with Battlestar Galactica co-star Katee Sackhoff, Moore offered some insight into his current workload.
Behind-the-Scenes Development
"Currently, I'm developing an adaptation of the iconic PlayStation game God of War," Moore revealed. "Amazon greenlit two seasons and brought me onboard. I'm actively shaping the scripts with my writing team - that's my primary focus these days."
The Ultimate PlayStation Character Showdown

Moore admits gaming isn't his forte, though he enjoys classic arcade titles like Defender and Asteroids. Modern controllers proved challenging: "'Press R1' - I'm still figuring out which button that is before my character dies," he joked.
Creative Team Takes Shape
Joining as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, Moore brings extensive sci-fi experience from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Battlestar Galactica. While much remains uncertain, we know original game director Cory Barlog stays involved as executive producer.
The series will adapt the acclaimed 2018 God of War reboot. Amazon clearly has confidence in video game adaptations after renewing Fallout and Secret Level following strong debuts - a promising sign for Kratos' small-screen future.
