Paramount Pictures has announced significant shifts in its movie release calendar, pushing back the release dates for two highly anticipated Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These delays mean fans will have to wait longer than originally planned to see these movies hit the big screen.
According to Variety, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender will no longer premiere on January 30, 2026. Instead, it's now set to debut on October 9, 2026, marking a delay of nearly nine months. This marks the second postponement for the film, which was initially slated for October 10, 2025. Paramount has also unveiled a new logo for the movie, which you can view below.
No specific reason for the delay was provided, but it's confirmed that the voice cast, including Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam, remains unchanged. The film, which focuses on the original Avatar protagonist in a story set years after the series concluded, was officially titled at last month's CinemaCon. This movie is the first of a planned trilogy set in the Avatar universe.
Similarly, the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has been pushed back from October 9, 2026, to September 17, 2027. This nearly year-long delay means fans will have to wait longer to see the continuation of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo's story, particularly how the intriguing mid-credits scene from the first film will unfold. While plot and cast details are still under wraps, the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series can help tide fans over until the sequel's release.
