Before Starting Your Sensor
Before you begin using your Sensor, decide which device you will use for monitoring. Alarms and glucose readings can be received either on your smartphone or your FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader, but not both simultaneously. To use your smartphone, start the Sensor with the FreeStyle Libre 2 app. If you prefer the Reader, start the Sensor using the Reader itself.
Keep in mind that the FreeStyle Libre 2 app and Reader do not share data with each other. To ensure comprehensive data collection on a single device, scan your Sensor every 8 hours with that device. You can also upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.

It's important to note that while using the app, you must also have access to a blood glucose monitoring system, as the app does not provide one. Finger pricks may be required if glucose readings and alarms do not align with your symptoms or expectations.
Notifications will only be received when alarms are activated and the sensor is within 20 feet, unobstructed from the reading device. Ensure you enable the appropriate settings on your smartphone to receive alarms and alerts; refer to the FreeStyle Libre 2 User’s Manual for detailed instructions.
