This innovative tool is part of the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), a flagship initiative designed to provide cashless secondary and tertiary care treatment. Through a network of empanelled public and private hospitals, PM-JAY offers coverage to over 10 crore poor and vulnerable beneficiary families across the nation.
The National Health Authority (NHA) serves as the apex body tasked with implementing the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. With the launch of the Ayushman app, beneficiaries now have the power to create their "Ayushman card" directly from their mobile devices. This card is essential for accessing free treatment up to INR 5 Lakhs, significantly improving healthcare accessibility for those in need.
