We're not Sketchbook, Photoshop, Procreate, or Infinite Painter. We are ArtClash.
**ArtClash is designed to inspire daily drawing, sketching, and cartooning practice.** The first game is complete, but more are coming soon. Free draw, select a topic or series of topics, apply optional constraints (like time limits, color palettes, or canvas size), create your artwork, and earn points when others correctly guess your drawing!
**This is a solo project, created for my wife and me to practice daily and encourage others to do the same.**
**Current Features:**
- Paint, sketch, and blend
- Import images for reference or as a base for your artwork
- Select topics, apply constraints, draw, and earn points for each correct guess
- Six difficulty levels for topics—from single words to sets of up to five words (nouns, verbs, places, time periods)
- Choose from three constraints for bonus points: time, colors, or canvas size
- Free drawing with sharing capabilities
- NSFW flag for content filtering
**Current Early Access Issues/Bugs:**
- Unpolished UI: The Unity UI is proving challenging, and a switch to XAML is planned for improved responsiveness.
- Canvas Size Limitations: On lower-end devices, keep canvases under 1024x1024. While GPU-accelerated, the brush engine slows significantly with larger canvases and small brushes. Performance testing in other engines is planned for future optimization.
**Upcoming Features:**
- Additional games (starting with a drawing-based "telephone" game)
- Enhanced social features (customizable avatars, comments, friend lists, following)
- Improved UI and faster brush engine (addressing the issues listed above)
- Marquee selection and transform tools
- Expanded brush library (currently supports custom brush textures; more brushes and user-submitted brushes will be added)
- Advanced layer system (including features like locking transparent pixels and masking)
- Developer communication system: A feedback system for feature requests, bug reports, and community voting on future updates.
- Moderator system for content review and moderation
- User-submitted topics and constraints (subject to moderation)
- Long-term goals: Full image editing, animation, scripting, and game/storyboard prototyping capabilities.
Due to current performance limitations with large textures and the absence of full editing features, ArtClash is not intended to be a complete image editing suite. It's currently optimized for social competition and artistic encouragement.
