ZhiZhu! - The Spider™ modernizes the ancient "Nine Men Morris" with enhanced strategic depth.
Game Components:
Includes 1 spiderweb board, 9 white spiders and 9 black spiders.
START: Player A begins with white spiders, Player B with black spiders, placing them on an empty board.
OBJECTIVE: Capture your opponent's spiders through strategic chain formations.
How to Capture Opponent's Spiders?
Capture spiders by creating perfectly aligned chains:
SMALL CHAIN: Align 3 spiders along any of the 8 straight lines.
BIG CHAIN: Position 5 spiders along any of the 3 concentric circles.
GAME PHASES: Two distinct stages define gameplay:
PHASE 1 – Placement:
Take turns placing all 9 spiders on the spiderweb's 24 available positions.
Form chains during placement to capture opponent pieces.
PHASE 2 – Sliding Movement:
After placement, slide spiders to adjacent empty spots horizontally or vertically.
Capturing Mechanics:
Create a SMALL Chain (3 aligned spiders) to remove ONE opponent spider.
Form a BIG Chain (5 aligned spiders) to remove TWO opponent spiders.
CRUCIAL RULES:
Cannot capture spiders already in chains unless no other options exist.
Cannot recreate identical chains using the same spider positions.
VALID chains require at least one newly moved spider.
Victory Conditions:
Capture 7 opponent spiders to win.
