Sueca is a thrilling point-trick card game beloved across Portuguese-speaking communities, including Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Macao, Mozambique, Nagasaki, and Goa. This engaging multiplayer game brings together four players in two teams, combining strategy, skill, and teamwork for an unforgettable card experience.
The goal in Sueca is simple: win as many tricks as possible to accumulate points. The game uses a 40-card deck, created by removing the 8s, 9s, and 10s from a standard 52-card deck. Card rankings, from highest to lowest, are: Ace, 7, King (K), Jack (J), Queen (Q), 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Each card holds specific point values: Ace (11 points), 7 (10 points—known as "manilha" in Portuguese), King (4 points), Jack (3 points), Queen (2 points), while the remaining cards are worth 0 points.
When a player wins a trick, they collect the point value of all cards in that trick. The trump suit rules—meaning the highest card of the trump suit always wins the trick. This adds a layer of strategy and excitement to every round.
For those who prefer a two-player experience, the app also features Bisca, a closely related variant of Sueca. Whether you're playing Sueca or Bisca, you're in for a classic card game experience rooted in tradition and social play.
