The app, developed in collaboration with Safe Toddles, a dedicated nonprofit organization, aims to enhance the walking and orientation skills of visually impaired children through a structured series of lessons. Our approach centers on the use of the Pediatric Belt Cane, an innovative product designed by Safe Toddles to assist in the mobility training of visually impaired kids. This app provides a comprehensive learning experience, where users can engage with specifically designed lessons, participate in targeted activities, and provide valuable feedback via assessment questionnaires.
To optimize the learning process, the app integrates with a wearable Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor attached to the Pediatric Belt Cane. This sensor collects and sends IMU data to the app, which is then processed by an advanced AI module. The AI evaluates this data to assess the developmental age of the student, ensuring that the training is age-appropriate and effective.
Based on these periodic assessments, the app dynamically generates a personalized set of lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. This ensures that every child receives the most relevant and beneficial training, helping them to develop essential walking and orientation skills in a safe and supportive environment.
