Revolution Diabolique

Summon demons to win the French Revolution! Will you rule with infernal power, or lose your head to the guillotine? In Revolution Diabolique, a 425,000-word interactive dark fantasy novel by Chris Conley, you hold the reins of forbidden magic during one of history’s most turbulent eras. This immersive text-based game offers no graphics or sound effects—only the limitless potential of your imagination.

You are a demonologist living in seclusion at your provincial estate in eighteenth-century France, studying the world’s most dangerous arcane arts. From the shadows, you can summon a vast array of demons: some that manipulate enemies through deception and confusion, others that manifest as terrifying beasts, and still more who reveal ancient cosmic truths. As the fires of revolution begin to burn, neutrality is no longer an option. Every faction—the monarchists, republicans, peasants, intellectuals, and anarchists—seeks to harness your dark power for their cause. Whom will you serve? Or will you forge your own path?

Will you unleash hell on the battlefield to tip the scales of war, or lead a demonic march on Paris? Can you guide a political movement from behind the scenes, using your infernal knowledge to shape the Republic’s fate? Perhaps you’ll establish a new cult devoted to the old powers—or build a palace grander than Versailles itself. But beware: every choice comes with consequences, and the price of power may be steeper than you expect. You may sacrifice your reputation, your fortune, your safety—or even your soul.
