The Signal Redirector is a unique item in *Atomfall* that you won't stumble upon in typical ways. Unlike the Metal Detector, which you might find on a corpse, the Signal Redirector is tied to a specific character and location. You'll need to embark on a quest involving Dr. Diane Garrow, a former B.A.R.D scientist.
Start your journey by picking up the lead from Wyndham Village about Dr. Garrow's whereabouts. Your next step is to rescue her, as she's imprisoned deep within the Protocol prison camp in Skethermoor. Reaching this location is challenging due to the heavy presence of Protocol soldiers. To ease your infiltration, consider meeting Captain Grant Sims in Wyndham Village. By helping him with tasks like recovering stolen items, you can gain favor with the Protocol, making your mission smoother.

When you're ready, head to the Protocol prison camp on the southernmost border of Skethermoor. Look for the entrance to the underground prison at the end of the southmost road, marked by a large green door.
Navigating the prison involves progressing through multiple levels while avoiding or confronting guards and robots. Remember, you can disable B.A.R.D robots to obtain **Atomic Batteries**, which are crucial for The Interchange.
Continue to the prison's bottom level, past the dig site area. Dr. Garrow is locked in a standalone cell in the main room. To free her, you need the Signal Redirector, which is stored in the nearby Storage room on a shelf. Once you retrieve it, you'll earn the **‘Reverse the Polarity’ trophy/achievement**.
How to Use Signal Redirector in Atomfall

The Signal Redirector, developed by Dr. Garrow, is essentially a hacking tool. It functions by rerouting power within yellow junction boxes to different sources, which can disable security systems or unlock storage rooms.
Similar to the Metal Detector, when the Signal Redirector is in your inventory, it will notify you with an icon at the bottom of your screen when a hackable junction box is nearby. Follow the direction indicated by the device's needle, and the junction box will be highlighted when you're close enough.
To hack, select the ‘Hack’ button to reroute the power. If you need to reverse the process, simply hack the junction box again.
