Where To Upgrade Weapons and Armor in Avowed
In Avowed, upgrades happen at the Workbench, located at Party Camps. These stations require specific materials based on the weapon or armor type and its current Quality. Most materials can be found or crafted, though progressing to higher Qualities demands increasingly rare Adra.
Party Camps are established near Adra Waystones scattered across the world. Interact with a Waystone, choose to set up camp, and mark the location on your map with a tent icon for quick travel.
How Weapon and Armor Upgrades Work in Avowed
Weapons and armor in Avowed are rated by Quality, indicated by a numerical value, color rarity, and descriptive term. Lower-Quality gear struggles against higher-level enemies. When facing stronger foes, inferior gear performs poorly, while properly matched gear offers significant advantages. Here’s the Quality scale:
- Common Quality – Green, Level I
- Fine Quality – Blue, Level II
- Exceptional – Purple, Level III
- Superb – Red, Level IV
- Legendary – Gold, Level V
Each Quality allows for three additional upgrades (+0 to +3), enhancing stats without reaching the next Quality level. To advance to the next Quality, all three upgrades must be completed.
Additional Upgrades for Avowed Weapons and Armor
Within each Quality, weapons and armor can be enhanced three times, labeled +0 to +3. While these incremental improvements aren’t as impactful as moving to the next Quality, they still bolster your gear’s effectiveness. Completing all three steps is necessary before upgrading to a higher Quality.
Which Gear Should You Upgrade in Avowed?
Gear in Avowed falls into two categories: standard and Unique. Standard gear is widely available as loot or from Merchants. Unique gear, however, is tied to quests, boss drops, or select Merchant sales.
Unique gear can reach the highest Quality levels, including Legendary, and comes with exclusive bonuses. Focus your upgrades on Unique items, using standard gear temporarily or breaking it down for resources. Selling non-Unique gear to Merchants for Skeyt is another option.
