Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant overhaul and a fresh wave of content for the beloved action RPG. This season introduces the captivating Cloud Oasis, a new area featuring innovative economic gameplay mechanics where players can engage in trading resources, managing workers, and overseeing production lines to build their aerial empire.
A highlight of Season 8 is the return of Thea, now with a revamped trait called Blasphemer. This new mechanic trades her traditional divine powers for a powerful curse named Desecration. Starting off weak, Desecration scales significantly, enhancing Erosion damage as her blessing power diminishes. Players can explore various build options, from area-of-effect explosions to health-scaling effects, ideal for those who enjoy damage-over-time and intricate synergy setups.
The endgame experience in Torchlight: Infinite is also receiving a major update. Deep Space has been completely revamped, featuring five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. A new system called Probes allows players to adjust the level of risk and potential rewards, with the Compass Probe offering chances to obtain Compass chests filled with superior loot.
Season 8 also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling players to combine Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single slot, thereby offering deeper build customization. Additionally, a formidable new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the game, appearing on the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown and in the Plane Watcher encounters.
Coinciding with the launch of Season 8, Torchlight: Infinite will celebrate its Sands of Fortune anniversary event from April 17th to May 1st. Players can participate in various tasks, earn Gold Rush Attempts, and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
