Thomas Waterzooi is back with another art-based puzzle game that defies convention. This time, the challenge isn't about touching—it's about observing the art. His upcoming mobile title, Please, Watch The Artwork, made its debut at the Day of the Devs showcase during Summer Game Fest 2025.
Following the well-received Please, Touch The Artwork (2022) and its sequel (early 2024), Please, Watch The Artwork continues the series' quirky engagement with interactive art, now with a deeper psychological twist.
This spin-off doesn’t replace the previously announced Please, Touch The Artwork 3, which Waterzooi confirmed remains in active development. For a first look, check out the official reveal below.
Please, Watch The Artwork on Mobile Blends Eerie Silence and Growing Dread
At its heart, the game is a spot-the-difference experience. You step into the shoes of a night guard at the MaMA (Museum of Animated Modern Art), where you monitor surveillance feeds of paintings that subtly shift and transform.
Your task is to identify these visual discrepancies and report them before a creeping sense of dread sets in. Inspired by the works of Edward Hopper, the game brings more than 40 reinterpreted paintings to life across six themed galleries.
You’ll encounter looping scenes of empty diners, somber bedrooms, and shadow-drenched streets—each pulsing with quiet life. The game features no background music; instead, you'll hear the ambient sounds of each environment. Audio itself becomes a key element of observation, as sound-based anomalies also count as differences.
Please, Watch The Artwork is coming to Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch, with a mobile release currently slated for October. Waterzooi announced the game in a surreal, ASMR-style voiceover. Visit the official website for additional details.
