The Dying Light: Retouched update brings enhanced graphics and remastered sound to Techland's acclaimed zombie parkour adventure tomorrow for PC and consoles - though Nintendo Switch owners will miss out.
Yesterday, the studio detailed plans for this complimentary upgrade that refreshes their decade-old apocalyptic hit. Players on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S can expect higher-resolution textures, improved lighting, and completely rebuilt audio mixing. Notably absent from this lineup was any mention of Nintendo Switch.

When contacted by IGN about potential Switch support, a Techland representative confirmed the update won't reach Nintendo's platform.
"The Dying Light: Retouched Update isn't coming to Nintendo Switch," Techland stated via email.
The Platinum Edition bundle first arrived on Switch in 2021, though its availability was limited - particularly in Germany where a sales restriction prevents digital purchases across European, Australian, and New Zealand eShops.
Hope for Switch 2 compatibility remains similarly dim. Currently, the only way to play Dying Light on Nintendo's upcoming hardware is through backward compatibility.
"Regarding Switch 2: We currently have no plans," Techland clarified. "Our full attention is on delivering Dying Light: The Beast for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this August. We have no Nintendo Switch 2 announcements at this stage."
This confirmation leaves Switch players with only the Platinum Edition version. While Dying Light 2: Stay Human - Cloud Version was initially announced for Switch in 2021, it never materialized alongside the 2022 multiplatform release.
The upcoming Dying Light: The Beast spinoff starring original protagonist Kyle Crane will also skip Nintendo platforms when it launches August 22. While Franchise Director Tymon Smektała expressed interest in Switch 2 support to Wccftech, he confirmed no concrete plans exist.
Dying Light: Retouched launches tomorrow with substantial improvements to the 10-year-old hit. Full details are available in Techland's development blog. For our original assessment, revisit our 8.5/10 review.
