Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced an exciting new game titled Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite mechanics. Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, which suffered from a devastating magical cataclysm, the game's narrative unfolds against a backdrop where magic is feared and exploited. The tyrannical King-Sun Azra, leveraging the dread of his subjects, uses his Crimson Order to enslave mages. In response, a valiant group of heroes emerges to challenge his reign. This ensemble includes the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr.
Players diving into Absolum can anticipate a high-octane gaming experience, featuring upgradable abilities, powerful combos, and enchanting spells. The game caters to both solo adventurers and those who prefer cooperative play, allowing players to synergize their attacks and execute devastating combinations together.
Enhancing the immersive experience, Absolum's soundtrack is being composed by a trio of legendary figures in the gaming music industry: Gareth Coker, renowned for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, celebrated for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the scores of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025, and will be available across multiple platforms including PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Get ready to embark on this epic journey and challenge the tyranny of King-Sun Azra in the world of Talamh.
