Celebrate Christmas with Stellar Blade's Latest Update
Enjoy Stellar Blade with the New Holiday-Themed Outfits
As the holiday season approaches, Shift Up is bringing the festive spirit to Xion starting December 17. Get ready to celebrate in style with new Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and a mini-game.
Eve and other characters will don new holiday-themed outfits, featuring vibrant colors and festive decorations. The available character outfits include:
⚫︎ Santa Dress (Eve)
⚫︎ Rudolph Pack (Drone)
⚫︎ I’m No Santa (Adam)
Enhance Eve's holiday look with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Xion Refurbished For the Holidays and Features a Mini-Game
Xion, the last surviving human settlement, will transform into a cozy haven adorned with warm lights and festive red, green, and white decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp will also embrace the holiday spirit, featuring seasonal BGM tracks like "Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away" to create a soothing atmosphere and alleviate the fatigue from daily battles.
In addition to the holiday decorations, a new mini-game will be introduced in Xion. Although details about the mode and its rewards are yet to be revealed, it appears that players can earn special rewards by shooting targets on a hovering holiday-themed drone.
Turn On or Off Stellar Blade's Seasonal Contents
The latest update introduces an option to toggle seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC. To access this feature, navigate to the game's Settings and find the Gameplay menu. Here, you can adjust the Seasonal Event Content with three options:
⚫︎ Auto - automatically enables or disables seasonal content based on the current season
⚫︎ Disable - deactivates seasonal content regardless of the current season
⚫︎ Enabled - activates seasonal content regardless of the current season
This new feature allows players to enjoy seasonal content at their convenience. Note that changing the Seasonal Event Content option will require the game to restart to the most recent save.
Mostly Well-Received, But Not Everyone Is Happy
Following PlayStation's announcement on Twitter (X) on December 16, most fans expressed excitement about the new update. Many playfully dubbed Eve "Christmas Eve," blending the holiday spirit with the protagonist's name. Fans also appreciated Shift Up's commitment to delivering regular seasonal updates.
However, some players raised concerns about the frequency of event updates for Stellar Blade. "I don’t mind at all, but why does Stellar Blade have so many event updates? It just doesn’t seem like the type of game," one fan remarked. Others were frustrated by the necessity to restart the game to access the seasonal content.
Unlike games with multiplayer modes and high replayability, which benefit from seasonal content and cosmetic packs, Stellar Blade is a single-player experience that can be completed in about 30 hours. As a result, players often need to restart the game to fully explore and enjoy its seasonal updates, especially after completing the main storyline.
