GSC Game World has unveiled S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy - Enhanced Edition, a next-generation upgrade for the original three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles, launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on May 20.
The Enhanced Edition bundle features remastered versions of Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008), and Call of Pripyat (2009). Each title has been thoroughly updated with enhanced graphics, performance improvements for new consoles, and broader mod support.
According to GSC Game World, players who already own the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy on Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5 will receive the Enhanced Edition upgrades at no extra cost.
For PC, the developer stated that to thank longtime fans, owners of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games will get the Enhanced Editions free, while buyers of the Enhanced Editions will also receive the original versions. The trilogy is sold as a bundle for $39.99, or each game can be purchased individually for $19.99.
Cross-platform save transfers between PC and consoles are not available. Your progress will be saved locally for the specific platform you are playing on.
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, players can choose from multiple frame rate settings in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy - Enhanced Edition. Options include standard modes targeting 30 FPS and 60 FPS, plus 40 FPS and up to 120 FPS modes, but the latter two are only accessible on VRR-compatible displays.
The console version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Enhanced Edition offers multiple graphics and performance modes, including Quality Balanced, Performance, and Ultra Performance.
Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro provide: Quality (native 4K at 30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 4K at 40 FPS), Performance (upscaled 4K at 60 FPS), and Ultra Performance (upscaled 2K at 120 FPS). Xbox Series S offers: Quality (native 2K at 30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 2K at 40 FPS), and Performance (1080p at 60 FPS).
Please note: both the Quality Balanced and Ultra Performance modes require a display that supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) technology.
