Heads up: the popular music streaming service Spotify experienced an outage this morning. According to Downdetector, a sister site of IGN, reports of Spotify outages began surfacing around 6 a.m. PT today, and at the time of this report, issues were still being reported in large numbers. Our team at IGN encountered difficulties accessing the service throughout the morning, and when we managed to open the app, it failed to play music.
Spotify has officially acknowledged the problem and is actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible. The company has also debunked rumors suggesting that the outage was caused by a security hack, stating clearly that such reports are false.
