The much-anticipated open beta for *Smite 2* is now live and available for free on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam Deck. This follows a successful closed alpha phase, and players can jump right into the action. Alongside the launch, Titan Forge Games has released a new patch for *Smite 2*, bringing fresh content including new gods, an exciting game mode, and much more.
Announced a year ago, *Smite 2* promises to elevate the beloved third-person MOBA experience with the power of Unreal Engine 5. The sequel offers enhanced visuals and refined combat mechanics, along with a revamped item shop that allows for more flexible item choices regardless of the god's classification. Players will once again embody gods from various mythologies, engaging in epic 5v5 battles to conquer the opposing team's base.
Starting January 14, players can dive into *Smite 2*'s open beta across multiple platforms. The latest update introduces Aladdin, a god uniquely crafted for *Smite 2*. Aladdin brings a dynamic playstyle, capable of running along walls and reviving after death thanks to his companion's three wishes. His ultimate ability lets him use his lamp to capture enemies, forcing them into a thrilling 1v1 showdown.

The new gods joining the *Smite 2* roster include Geb, the Egyptian God of Earth; Mulan, the Chinese Ascendant Warrior; Agni, from the Hindu Pantheon; and Ullr, from the Norse Pantheon. In addition to these deities, the open beta reintroduces the beloved Joust mode, where players clash on a smaller 3v3 map. Both the Conquest map and the Assault game mode are also accessible during the open beta.
Titan Forge Games’ creative director has stated that *Smite 2* surpasses its predecessor in numerous aspects. The developer expressed gratitude for the community's feedback during the closed alpha, which has been instrumental in refining the game. They also teased "ambitious content" slated for release in 2025.
While *Smite 2* is available on nearly every major platform, Nintendo Switch users will have to wait. The developer cited concerns about the console's performance capabilities.
