When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?
The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and wraps up at 8 PM local time on March 30. That gives you a solid five-day window to immerse yourself in the world of bug-type Pokemon. This event is also prime time for Shiny hunting, as nearly every featured Pokemon has a Shiny variant in *Pokemon GO*.

According to the official page, you'll encounter the following bug-type Pokemon more frequently in the wild during the Bug Out event:

- Wurmple
- Nincada

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event
Two new additions will join the *Pokemon GO* roster during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch using 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

The Bug Out event will be teeming with raid opportunities. Here's what you can expect to encounter at raid gyms. Note that Pokemon marked with an asterisk have a Shiny form:

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses
During the Bug Out event, trainers will enjoy the following bonuses:
- Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
- More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
- More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
- Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
- A higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
- Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.
Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research
Spinning PokeStops during the event will reward you with event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can earn you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon.
Timed Research will offer rewards like a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon, while the Paid Timed Research will include a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Remember, both types of research need to be completed, and rewards claimed, before the event concludes.
Pokemon GO Bug Avatar Items

Starting with the Bug Out event, you can find new bug-type themed Avatar items in the in-game shop, including:
- Sizzlipede Boots
- Scolipede Jacket
Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges
The Bug Out event will also feature Collection Challenges centered around event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
