Humans (Folk)
Humans, or Folk as they're known in-game, are the most common race in Avowed and naturally feature prominently in the character creator. As part of the broader Kith group (encompassing various sentient species), Humans offer extensive customization. Expect a wide range of presets, detailed facial features, skin tone options, and diverse hairstyles, providing ample opportunity to create a truly unique character.
Elves
Elves are another playable race. Visually similar to humans, they are distinguished by subtle differences in facial structure and, of course, those iconic pointed ears.
Godlikes
While all Envoys are Godlikes within the game's narrative, players can choose to incorporate or omit Godlike features in their character creation. Godlikes offer unique and varied hair and facial options, ranging from subtle enhancements to more striking, surreal appearances. At launch, Avowed provides 14 distinct Godlike facial features and four hairstyles, available to all characters regardless of race or body type.
Character Creator: Gender and Body Types
Avowed offers four body types: two masculine and two feminine. These are available for both Humans and Elves. Players can also select from two masculine and two feminine voice options, and choose their character's pronouns (he/him, she/her, or they/them).
Unplayable Races
While Avowed's world features a diverse population of Kith, including Dwarves, the semiaquatic Aumaua, and the diminutive Orlans, these races are currently unavailable for player character creation. However, future updates or DLC may expand character customization options.
