The Realmgate is a pivotal endgame feature in Path of Exile 2. Unlike standard map nodes, it doesn't utilize Waystones for traversal. This guide explains the Realmgate's location, usage, and what awaits beyond. Proper preparation is key to maximizing its potential.
How to Locate the Realmgate in PoE 2
The Realmgate is situated adjacent to your mapping phase's starting point. The fastest way to return is by clicking the floating home icon on the mapping screen (pictured above). This centers the screen on your starting location. The Realmgate is positioned near the stone Ziggurat.
The home icon might occasionally overlap with the red skull icon (Burning Monolith location). These points are usually close together; clicking one will reveal the other.
How to Utilize the Realmgate in PoE 2
Unlike regular map nodes, Waystones are ineffective with the Realmgate. Its function is to transport players to endgame Pinnacle boss encounters. Four Pinnacle bosses currently utilize the Realmgate:
- Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Combine 300
Breach Splinters to forge a Breachstone. Activate the Breachstone at the Realmgate to engage Xesht. - Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Use a Level 79 or higher Logbook (obtained from Expeditions) by interacting with Dannig in your Hideout. Dannig appears randomly during Expedition maps, alongside other Expedition NPCs (Rog, Gwennen, and Tujen), and subsequently resides in your Hideout.
- The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Combine 300
Simulacrum Splinters to create The Simulacrum, usable at the Realmgate. This initiates a 15-wave Delirium encounter map, ideal for optimized mapping strategies. - King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire "An Audience With the King" item through the Ritual Favour system using Tribute. Use this item at the Realmgate to initiate the fight.
Note: The Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal (found at the end of the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas respectively) are not accessed via the Realmgate.
The Arbiter or Ash, the ultimate endgame Pinnacle boss, is located within the Burning Monolith, not the Realmgate. Access requires three Citadel keys obtained through a quest triggered upon your initial Burning Monolith encounter.
