Nintendo Switch 2 players report their controllers' vibration automatically deactivating when the system detects extended rumble usage.
Since the Switch 2's recent launch, users have encountered on-screen notifications stating "Rumble has been turned off due to prolonged use," temporarily disabling controller vibrations.
"Initially received this warning after approximately 90 minutes of handheld gameplay," shared a Reddit user. "Now it appears within the first 20 minutes. Is anyone else experiencing this?"
Switch 2 owners report vibration interruptions during gameplay across multiple titles, including intense combat sequences in Cyberpunk 2077 (particularly when firing the minigun) and cinematic moments in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
A dedicated Reddit discussion tracking the issue mentions additional affected games. "Occurred during Sonic Generations' final boss battle," commented one player. "Experiencing this regularly while playing Fast Fusion," noted another.
While Nintendo hasn't officially commented, players speculate this may be an intentional battery conservation feature. Vibration requires significant power, and while disabling the function seems drastic, it could help extend Joy-Con battery life.

"This alert appears for me frequently, sometimes within minutes of starting," expressed a concerned player in another discussion. "Concerned my Joy-Con might be faulty."
Currently, affected players report that completely disabling vibration in system settings prevents further warnings, while others mention the restriction lifts after several minutes.
