Weapon damage in NieR: Automata varies wildly with each swing. Upgrading reduces this spread and boosts potential damage. Many weapons have tight damage ranges, but the Iron Pipe boasts the widest spread and highest potential damage output in the game. It's a gamble, but definitely worth acquiring. Here's how:
How To Get The Iron Pipe In NieR: Automata
The Iron Pipe is a rare fishing reward found in sewers. Both sewer locations offer the same drop rate; the one near Resistance Camp is easiest to access. Fast travel to the camp, then head right towards the Amusement Park. After crossing the small gap, you'll find an open manhole under a highway.
Descend into the sewer and fish in the water. You'll catch various junk items (sellable for money) along with a chance at the Iron Pipe. There's no trick to increase your odds; it's purely random. The process might take minutes or just a few casts. Use your pod's light in the dark sewer to improve visibility when the fish goes underwater.
Another sewer is accessible on the way to the Flooded City.
