KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Servers Shut Down After 3.5-Year Run
Another gacha game bites the dust. KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, developed by Sumzap and published by Nexon (later Sesisoft), officially ended its service on January 30th. While a 3.5-year lifespan (compared to the Japanese version's 5 years) is respectable for an anime-based gacha, revenue decline ultimately led to its closure.
The developers, having shifted focus to the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game, still maintained active updates until the very end, including voiced story additions and a final song release just three weeks prior to shutdown. A farewell livestream in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, further highlighted their dedication to the game's community.
The Japanese version generously archived its entire main story on YouTube, allowing players continued access to the narrative. While a similar offline version or dedicated YouTube archive isn't available for the Global version, players can still explore the Japanese YouTube channel to revisit their favorite characters.
Despite the lack of an offline Global version, the developers ensured a fitting send-off for KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global. The game's legacy will live on through fond memories and the available Japanese archives.
