Exciting news for Disney fans: The Lion King ride is set to make its debut at Disneyland Paris, with construction slated to begin in Fall 2025. Disney Parks Blog has provided thrilling new images and details about this first-ever land and attraction themed to The Lion King, which promises to be a major highlight of the revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World.
This innovative water ride will take guests on a journey through the iconic moments of the 1994 classic film. The land itself will feature a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and offer an array of dining, shopping, character meet-and-greets, and more. A new concept image shared by Disney showcases Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting, highlighting just one part of this immersive experience. The ride will also include a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
While an exact opening date hasn't been announced, the ride is expected to launch following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. This attraction will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which aims to double the current park's size.
In addition to The Lion King ride, Disney Adventure World will introduce several other attractions, including the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction themed after Up. This "spinning carousel" will provide guests with a breathtaking "bird's eye view" of the park's stunning scenery.
Opening on May 15, 2025, the new park entrance, World Premiere, will recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Additionally, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will feature theaters hosting shows such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
