Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have announced the exciting Dark Odyssey collection, an upcoming update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This update introduces a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, and it's completely free for all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC. The Dark Odyssey collection brings a sleek, black-and-gold aesthetic to the game, enhancing the visual flair of Kratos and his companions as they navigate the rich tapestry of Norse mythology. Alongside Kratos, both Atreus and Freya receive their own unique cosmetic sets, and a variety of shields and weapons will also sport the new look.
The highlight of the Dark Odyssey collection is undoubtedly the new appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of the exclusive skin from God of War 2 that was only available to those who conquered the game on God Mode. Players will be able to unlock this prestigious gear from any Lost Items chest in the base game or instantly in the roguelike Valhalla mode after the update is released on March 20. Additionally, this patch will introduce a much-anticipated feature allowing players to customize the appearance of Kratos' weapons without affecting their abilities.
