thatgamecompany is launching a bold narrative experiment within Sky with Season of The Two Embers – Part 1 arriving in Sky: Children of the Light on July 21st as the opening chapter of an epic four-part saga.
This season integrates cinematic storytelling into gameplay, drawing inspiration from the short film Sky: The Two Embers and running concurrently with its first installment.
Sky: Children of the Light Season of The Two Embers – Part 1 follows the same story
The narrative centers on an orphan who holds onto hope as darkness envelops their world, told through a flowing animated sequence without spoken dialogue. Each chapter unfolds like a short film before transitioning into Seasonal Quests that allow players to experience the final moments of a fading kingdom. A manatee companion serves as the emotional core, reacting dynamically to your actions and staying by your side through every triumph and challenge.
Players will explore one of Sky’s most detailed new locations: a vibrant market village teeming with Spirits and hidden secrets. New cosmetics include playful manatee hats and earrings that complement the setting's atmosphere.
