FromSoftware has thrilled fans by sending out confirmation emails for the highly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. Announced via their Twitter (X) page on January 30, 2025, the excitement among the gaming community is palpable as they share their confirmation emails and express gratitude for being selected to participate in this exclusive event.
Participants who received their initial confirmation will get a follow-up email on February 11, 2025, containing a unique code for downloading the Network Test client on their preferred platform—either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. The registration period for this network test ran from January 10 to January 20, 2025. Unfortunately, those who applied but didn't receive an email will have to wait and see if FromSoftware offers additional testing opportunities.
Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test
The purpose of the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test, as stated by FromSoftware, is to conduct a "preliminary verification test" allowing selected testers to play a segment of the game before its official launch. This test will involve various technical verifications to ensure the online systems can handle large-scale network loads, ensuring a smooth multiplayer experience upon release.
The network test will take place from February 14 to February 16, 2025, and will consist of five 3-hour sessions:
- Session 1: February 14th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
- Session 2: February 14th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
- Session 3: February 15th from 11 AM to 2 PM PT

Scammers and Scalpers Already On The Move
Unfortunately, alongside the excitement, there have been reports of scams related to the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. On Steam, players are receiving fraudulent invites that, when clicked, redirect to suspicious pages designed to hack accounts and spam friend lists with the same malicious invite. FromSoftware has clarified that all official communications regarding the playtest are conducted solely through their website and social media accounts. Any links outside of these should be considered unauthorized or potentially harmful.
Additionally, scalpers have jumped into action, listing "confirmed test codes" for sale on various buy-and-sell platforms right after the confirmation emails were sent out. Despite the fact that these codes won't be available until February 11, they are being sold at exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, with some even being auctioned off.
Elden Ring Nightreign was first announced during The Game Awards 2024 and is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a planned 2025 launch window. No specific release date has been confirmed yet.
