The Yellow Orb is located in a town initially marked as "???" on the map – a settlement you must establish and develop. Its name ultimately derives from the merchant you assign to lead it. Call your merchant "Bob," and the town becomes "Bobsburg," for example. This town's growth is key to obtaining the Yellow Orb.
Finding Merchantburg (???)
After obtaining the ship from Portoga's King (following the Black Pepper quest), sail to the northeast corner of the world map to find Merchantburg. Quest markers will pinpoint its location. You'll essentially sail west from the coast, reaching the easternmost edge of the eastern continent.
Optimal Timing for Merchantburg
While orb acquisition order is flexible, visiting Merchantburg early is recommended. Its growth takes time, so establishing it soon after getting your ship allows you to collect other orbs concurrently.
Acquiring the Yellow Orb

Hiring a Merchant: Before heading to Merchantburg, visit PALS in Aliahan to hire a new merchant. Minimize combat en route to keep your new recruit safe.

Establishing Merchantburg: Enter the single building in Merchantburg and speak to the old man. He'll need a merchant to found the town – offer your newly hired merchant. Once they leave to establish the town, its name will be revealed.

Merchantburg's Growth: Continue your quest, ideally acquiring the Purple (Orochi's Lair) and Blue (Gaia's Navel) Orbs next. You'll receive notifications prompting you to return to Merchantburg as it expands through five stages. Each return reveals a slightly larger town, culminating in a large cabaret. After leaving the cabaret, be wary of a security guard attempting to swindle you.

The Merchant's Downfall: On your fourth visit, you'll notice growing discontent towards your merchant among the townsfolk. This signals the final stage of the town's development and the impending availability of the Yellow Orb.

Claiming the Yellow Orb: Visit Merchantburg at night on your fifth visit. The merchant will be absent from their home. You'll find them imprisoned in the house to the south. After speaking with the imprisoned merchant, return to their house. A quest marker will appear behind the sofa; interact with it to unearth the Yellow Orb.
For most players, the Yellow Orb will likely be among the last orbs acquired. Remember the locations of the others: Red Orb (Pirates' Den), Green Orb (Theddon), and Silver Orb (Maw of the Necrogond/Necrogond Shrine).
