EA currently has no plans to release Battlefield 6 on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Battlefield boss Vince Zampella informed Eurogamer that EA "currently has no plans" to launch the upcoming shooter on Nintendo's new console.
When asked for the reason, Zampella explained that—despite being a "huge Switch fan"—the development team is prioritizing PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, as that is where the majority of Battlefield's player base is.
First announced as far back as 2021, Battlefield 6 is scheduled to launch on October 10. Unlike the mixed reception of Battlefield 2042, fan reaction to the recent reveals has been largely positive, and for some time, EA did not actively remove leaked assets.
More recently, we had a glimpse of the upcoming battle royale mode, which, based on earlier leaks, is reportedly set in California, with players deploying via a CH-47 Chinook helicopter. The destructible ring is said to be made of a material referred to as "NXC." Despite earlier rumors, however, Battlefield 6 will not be priced at $80.
"Battlefield 6 revisits the franchise's most acclaimed eras, blending beloved elements from titles like Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. But does this revival of classic features still spark excitement?" we pondered in IGN's preview of Battlefield 6.
"From reintroducing the core class system—Assault, Support, Engineer, and Recon—to evaluating whether iconic game modes like 64-player Conquest remain just as engaging as ever." Keep reading for more on why BF6 feels like "a secure yet thrilling return to the series’ roots."
Battlefield 6 launches on October 10 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
