This guide details how to get the Lady Vengeance sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.
Quick Links
After removing your Source collar, you'll find yourself on the Lady Vengeance. To set sail, you must find an unconventional method to control the ship. This involves exploration, conversation with NPCs, and puzzle-solving. The ultimate goal is to access Magister Dallis' cabin and obtain the Ancient Empire Songbook.
Investigate Dead Bodies
Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghosts on deck. A dead magister holds a Sodden Diary containing a password. You can also obtain the password by passing a skill check at the northern stateroom door. Additionally, locate a Strange Gem; it's needed to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror nearby allows for respeccing characters.
Find the Portside Stateroom
Use the password from the diary to access the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to obtain a Strange Gem from his regalia. Use this gem and the password at the southern stateroom door to enter Magister Dallis' cabin. This cabin also contains a hidden hatch with two ghosts and a Teleportation Prism.
Find the Songbook
In Magister Dallis' cabin, talk to Tarquin and Dallis, exhausting their dialogue options. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction will be limited once the ship sets sail.
Setting Sail
Return to the deck and inform Malady about the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine on the west side of the deck and choose the option to sing. This will start the Lady Vengeance, but be prepared for an immediate ambush by powerful magisters. Ensure your party is adequately prepared for a challenging battle.
