Dead Cells final two updates are now live on iOS and Android, with fresh content to wrap it up

Author : Anthony Update:Apr 02,2025

The final chapters of Dead Cells have arrived with the release of the Clean Cut and The End is Near updates, marking the end of a long journey of continuous updates since its debut in 2018. Developed by Motion Twin and Evil Empire, Dead Cells has been a fan-favorite roguelike, consistently delivering new weapons, gear, and enemies to its community. Now, as it wraps up its content updates, fans are treated to a spectacular send-off.

These concluding updates are nothing short of a celebration, introducing a total of four new weapons to the arsenal. Players can now wield the unique Sewing Scissors from the Clean Cut update and the Misericorde from The End is Near, adding fresh dynamics to combat. Moreover, new gameplay modes such as Speedrun and Boss Rush DIY will challenge even the most seasoned players, pushing them to test their skills in novel ways.

In addition to weaponry and modes, the updates bring a plethora of new content: 40 new heads to customize your character, a variety of new enemy types to keep you on your toes, and an NPC that allows you to change your head's appearance at will. While Dead Cells transitions to focusing on long-term quality-of-life improvements as the developers move on, this final burst of content ensures players have plenty to explore and enjoy in the meantime.

It's ironic that the only significant criticism Dead Cells faced was when it announced the end of free updates. After providing a half-decade of free content, alongside paid expansions, the game's commitment to ongoing support through bug fixes and quality-of-life enhancements will undoubtedly keep it relevant for years to come.
