The asymmetrical horror multiplayer game, Dead by Daylight (DbD), is set to launch the exclusive Junji Ito collection, marking a thrilling collaboration with the renowned manga artist. Junji Ito, celebrated for his unique macabre storytelling and surrealist style over the past 40 years, has now brought his haunting characters into the world of Dead by Daylight for what's being hailed as the "ultimate horror collaboration."
The collection features eight skins inspired by Ito's notable works, including "Tomie," "Hanging Balloons," and "Rumors." The Killers featured in this collection are The Dredge, The Trickster, The Twins, The Spirit, and The Artist. Notably, The Spirit and The Artist will boast Legendary rarity skins, complete with new audio and sound effects. The Spirit will transform into Tomie, while The Artist will embody Miss Fuchi from "Rumors" and "Fashion Model." Survivors such as Yui Kimura, Yun-Jin Lee, and Kate Denson will also receive skins from this eerie collection.
Junji Ito himself played a role in bringing his characters to life within Dead by Daylight. In a video shared on the official Dead by Daylight X (Twitter) account, Ito expressed his delight and satisfaction upon seeing his creations in the game. "It was very moving to see that they had become even more terrifying characters after leaving my hands," he remarked. Following this, Ito tried his hand at the game, playing as The Artist adorned in her Miss Fuchi skin.
The Junji Ito collection will be available starting January 7th, 2025, for Dead by Daylight on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
