The much-anticipated Days Gone Remastered is drawing near, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shed light on some exciting accessibility features that will be part of the updated game. One standout feature is the ability to adjust the Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action when the intensity ramps up. This option, detailed by Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead Kevin McAllister in a new PlayStation Blog post, lets players tweak the gameplay speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, or even 25%. This adjustment is specifically designed to help players who may find themselves overwhelmed in high-pressure scenarios, such as battling the infamous Freaker hordes.
"Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. "Hordes are a pillar in Days Gone gameplay and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."In addition to Game Speed adjustments, Days Gone Remastered will include a variety of other accessibility options. These features encompass customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty settings from Easy to Survival II. While these enhancements are set to debut in the remastered version, Bend Studio has confirmed that most of these new accessibility options will also be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will necessitate a compatible controller.
Announced back in February, Days Gone Remastered promises more than just accessibility upgrades. The remaster will boast an enhanced photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, among other enhancements. This updated version of the 2019 biker-centric, post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is slated for release on April 25, 2025. Fans who already own the PS4 version will have the opportunity to upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
