The highly anticipated Godzilla skin, slated for release in Fortnite on January 17th, has had its details prematurely revealed through online leaks. Epic Games recently deployed an update containing the unreleased content, allowing data miners to uncover the specifics of the Monsterverse collaboration.
Beyond the standard Godzilla skin obtainable through the battle pass, players can acquire a bundle featuring Mechagodzilla and Kong from the in-game store. This bundle includes unique jetpacks and custom pickaxes designed to complement both skins.
January 17th also marks the launch of a new boss event. One player will transform into a colossal Godzilla, wielding atomic breath and other signature abilities. Players must collaborate to defeat this formidable foe. The player inflicting the most damage will earn a medallion granting a unique in-game perk.
The Mechagodzilla and Kong bundle will be available at the usual time in the Fortnite item shop, priced as follows:
- Kong: 1500 V-bucks
- Mechagodzilla: 1800 V-bucks
- Two pickaxes: 800 V-bucks each
- One emote: 400 V-bucks
- Two wraps: 500 V-bucks each
- Complete Bundle: 2800 V-bucks
Separately, Fortnite's ongoing collaborations with artists and performers hint at a possible appearance by the popular Vocaloid, Hatsune Miku. Social media interactions between Hatsune Miku's official account (reporting a missing backpack) and the Fortnite Festival account (confirming possession of the backpack) have fueled speculation. This collaboration may include a stylized pickaxe, a "Miku the Catgirl" skin variant, the standard Vocaloid skin, and potentially a virtual Hatsune Miku concert.
