Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Developers Considering Switch 2 Port
Says It "Could Be Interesting"
The phenomenal success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might lead Sandfall Interactive to consider a port to the Switch 2. In an interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's future plans post-launch.
He remarked that the game's achievements have "changed everything," and the team is currently strategizing their next steps. Broche noted, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."
When questioned about a potential Switch 2 release, Broche indicated that the studio is exploring numerous opportunities and still deciding on their priorities. He stated, "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting."
Given the imminent launch of the Switch 2, it would be fitting for the year's top-rated game to also be available on the latest handheld console. Fans will need to stay tuned to see if they can experience the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's new device.
No Official Merchandise…Yet!
Amidst the flurry of opportunities, Sandfall Interactive has been approached about creating official merchandise, including a plush of the beloved character, Esquie. The studio has yet to produce any official merchandise and has warned fans about counterfeit items circulating online. In a Twitter (X) post on May 14, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."
They also cautioned against purchasing these bootleg items, many of which feature AI-generated artwork, and could potentially be scams. However, Sandfall Interactive is actively working on producing official Esquie plushies.
The post continued, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
The enthusiasm for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 remains high, and fans can look forward to official merchandise in the near future. The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For the latest updates on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, be sure to check out our article below!
