The beloved Dungeons & Dragons series, Critical Role, featuring voice actors like Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, and Travis Willingham, is set to conclude its third campaign next week. The finale, which will run for an impressive eight and a half hours, is scheduled to begin on February 6 at 7pm Pacific / 10pm Eastern. For fans in the UK, that means tuning in at 3am on February 7. You can catch the live stream on Critical Role's YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as through their membership service, Beacon.
This special episode will bring the epic journey of the adventuring party, Bells Hells, to a close. Their story, which started back in October 2021, has captivated audiences worldwide. Although no direct spin-offs or follow-ups for Bells Hells have been announced yet, Critical Role assures fans that more tales from the world of Exandria are on the horizon.
"This finale for Campaign 3 marks the end of one very epic chapter of Exandrian history," said Marisha Ray, the creative director and cast member. "But while we celebrate the end of this chapter, I think it’s important to know that the story continues with a simple turn of the page. I’m very excited to see what happens next in this story that remains to be written by the incredible emergent storytellers who are picking up the pen."
Despite the conclusion of Campaign 3, Critical Role's regular programming will continue without interruption. Just a week later, on February 14, the first of four episodes of another Exandria Unlimited mini-series will debut. Fans can also look forward to a variety of other shows and streams following this.
As for the much-anticipated Campaign 4, Critical Role has not yet revealed its start date. Historically, there have been gaps of a few months between campaigns. For instance, the first series, Vox Machina, concluded in October 2017, and the second series, Mighty Nein, began in January 2018. Mighty Nein ended in June 2021, with Campaign 3 starting in October of the same year. Given this pattern, it's likely that an announcement for the next campaign could come soon. With Critical Role's 10th anniversary approaching on March 12, this date could be a perfect opportunity for such an announcement, if not the launch of the series itself.
