Xbox announced the news on Twitter/X, stating, "You are the Destined One. Black Myth: Wukong arrives on August 20. Pre-orders open June 18!"

Black Myth: Wukong has proven to be a phenomenal success, surpassing 25 million copies sold as of January 31, 2025. Still, its absence on Xbox Series X/S has been particularly conspicuous, especially since it was never officially marketed as a platform exclusive.
Some industry insiders attributed the delay to a Sony exclusivity arrangement rather than technical limitations, though Game Science CEO Fen Ji reportedly pointed to the Xbox Series S hardware as the main challenge.
“The Xbox version is the only missing piece,” he explained, based on machine translation, “which feels somewhat incomplete. But that 10GB of shared memory—without extensive optimization expertise—is genuinely difficult to work with.”
It now seems these hurdles have been cleared, allowing Xbox players to soon add the acclaimed title to their collections.
