Larian Studios has recently shared a 52-second cinematic preview on Twitter (X), showcasing one of the new wicked endings coming in Patch 7 of Baldur’s Gate 3. The clip focuses on The Dark Urge and teases the sinister consequences of a fully wicked playthrough.

The preview shows the grim fate of The Dark Urge’s companions as they witness their leader succumb to their father’s will, seizing control of the Netherbrain. It’s a harrowing spectacle that foreshadows a reign of terror under Bhaal, as the companions become the first tragic victims.

The Dark Urge asserts mind-control over their companions, forcing them to plunge to their deaths. A chilling narration accompanies the scene, proclaiming, "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's," before the Dark Urge meets a similar fate.

This is but one of the many wicked endings coming to Patch 7. In Larian’s community update last April, they promised fans to add "improved wicked endings to the game for even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs." The best part: You can get these endings even if you’re not playing as The Dark Urge.

Those that were teased previously were The Dark Urge walking on a sea of blood and corpses, and one where an entire town succumbs to "sheer mindless bliss" in the hands of The True Absolute.

What’s New in Baldur’s Gate 3's Patch 7?

Baldur’s Gate 3’s forthcoming Patch 7 is a massive update, brimming with new content and substantial improvements. Beyond the recently hinted-at ominous endings, players can anticipate a dynamic split-screen mode for co-op, amplified Honour Mode challenges, and a much-requested modding toolkit enabling players to craft their own content.

Larian Studios has confirmed this isn't the final update for Baldur’s Gate 3. With features like crossplay and photo mode planned, the developer is dedicated to continuously improving the game based on community feedback.

Set for release this September, Patch 7 is presently in closed beta. While the precise launch date remains undisclosed, players can register on the game’s Steam store page for a chance to preview the new content early.
