Stunning the Beast
Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most frustrating trait. Stunning it is key. Utilize nearby Flashflies or craft Flash Pods to temporarily immobilize it.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Soloing Ebony Odogaron is difficult. Send out SOS flares for backup; fellow hunters or helpful NPCs can act as invaluable distractions, allowing you to focus on dodging and creating openings.
Utilize Environmental Hazards
In specific areas, you can trigger Entangled Rocks above Ebony Odogaron using your slinger, stunning it for a valuable window of opportunity (usable only once per fight). Combine this with Pitfall and Shock Traps for additional immobilization chances.
Beware Dragonblight
Ebony Odogaron inflicts Dragonblight, hindering your elemental and status effect damage. Counteract this with Nulberries or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance.
Paralysis: Your Best Friend
Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron. Immobilizing it creates significant openings for damage. Ideally, knock it down while it's near roots to further hinder its movement.
Target the Head (Wisely)
While its head is a 3-star weakness, it also makes you a prime target. Prioritize head shots when safe, but don't hesitate to focus on its forelegs and tail for less damage but greater safety.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron
Capture Ebony Odogaron by using Pitfall or Shock Traps once its health drops to 20% or less. Attempting capture at higher health will result in a failed capture and a continued fight.
