Once you’ve completed the main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can continue to explore its vast open world. The game is set in Feudal Japan, and the side content remains accessible post-main quest, allowing you to delve deeper into this rich setting. Moreover, Ubisoft plans to introduce new weekly challenges via the Animus after launch, ensuring that there's always something new to do, even if you've achieved 100% completion.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained
After the credits roll, there might still be more to the story. In my playthrough, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board, along with Yasuke and Naoe’s main quests. However, to unlock the epilogue and experience the true ending, you must complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Once these are done, head back to the Hideout to speak with Tomiko, which will unlock the complete ending and related achievements.
Additionally, players can earn exclusive gear themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke around the game's end. These armor sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist’s playstyle and feature designs that will delight long-time Assassin’s Creed fans. The endgame also allows for continued progression up to the game’s max level cap.
What’s Next For Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Although the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, the game will continue to evolve. New content will be added through the Animus, and the in-game store is expected to be updated with fresh items. Furthermore, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is set to release later in 2025, introducing over 10 hours of additional content on the Island of Awaji.
